More than 1,000 nurses, clinicians, and solution providers specializing in vascular access and infusion therapy are expected to attend INS 2018. The organization’s membership advances clinical best practices by: developing and disseminating standards of practice, providing professional development and education, and supporting professional certification. The 2018 INS Conference, the society’s annual meeting, is the premier event within the infusion nursing discipline, offering the benefits of educational sessions, clinical training, and new product demonstrations.

Proper securement of intravenous access devices is a growing concern as approximately 90% of hospital patients will receive an IV catheter, greater than 200 Million IV catheters annually, and of those catheters, approximately 10-30% will dislodge or complicate. It is estimated that catheter dislodgements cost the US healthcare system $1 billion dollars a year. Keeping the catheter “quiet”, as motion free as possible, can help prevent inadvertent dislodgements, migration, occlusion, infection, loss of use and other complications resulting from catheter movement. Starboard Medical’s Clik-FIX™ Securement products are made with care in mind. They are specifically engineered to stabilize the catheter better to help prevent movement related catheter complications.

Starboard routinely receives input from clinicians regarding unmet needs and new product concepts related to catheter securement devices. Our Research and Development team has a full pipeline of differentiated securement devices for various catheters and medical tubing, we will be pre-viewing our new Foley Securement device at this conference. “We are excited to introduce our newest Clik-FIX securement products and offer hospital clinicians yet another product to help prevent catheter complications, improve outcomes and reduce costs,” said Kerry Edgar, President of Starboard.

Starboard will conduct presentations demonstrating the advantages of the Clik-FIX Catheter Securement Product Portfolio on Saturday, May 19th, Sunday, May 20th, and Monday, May 21st from 10:30am -1:30pm at Exhibit Hall Booth #722.
