Dr Ashwini Sharan Joins Medtronic Neuromodulation Operating Unit As CMO

Dr Ashwini Sharan has joined Medtronic’s Neuromodulation Operating Unit as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Sharan will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our innovation and clinical evidence plans, help guide physician, society, and education engagements, serve as a medical advisor to the business, and interact with the medical community to identify current and future business opportunities to address unmet medical needs.

Dr Ashwini Sharan has 25 years of experience and is one of the top neurosurgeons in the United States. He is highly sought after in terms of both his practice and thought leadership in the neurosurgical space. He has an MD from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and a master’s in population health quality improvement. He currently serves as Co-Director of the Neuro Restoration Center and Professor of Neurological Surgery and Neurology at Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Medical College, and previously held roles of President for both the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Neuromodulation Society.
