SOLIUS new world-class talent and scientific leadership team is led by technology and health care executive Bob Wise.

SOLIUS is focused on expanding its body of scientific validation through clinical trials, and recent additions to the medical advisory board align with this purpose. The company is working with leading experts in the fields of phototherapy and vitamin D research to develop its products and execute their trials.

The SOLIUS medical advisory board includes:

Dr. Ganesh Raghu from the University of Washington: Dr. Raghu is a board-certified physician at UW Medical Center, director of the UW Interstitial Lung Disease/Sarcoid/Pulmonary Fibrosis Program, and founder and former director of the UW Medicine Lung Transplant Program. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Critical Care. Dr. Raghu’s 30+ years of research is devoted to both basic science (lung fibroblast and extracellular matrix) and translational and clinical studies in the field of pulmonary fibrosis, idiopathic interstitial pneumonia, and sarcoid.

Dr. Frank Lau from Louisiana State University: Dr. Lau is an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at LSU. He is the principal investigator of a tissue engineering and breast cancer research lab and is the recipient of 18 grants. His research interests include breast cancer, vitamin D insufficiency in COVID-19, incisional hernia prevention, pyoderma gangrenosum, regenerative approaches to limb salvage, and diseases of white adipose tissue.

Dr. Jan Dutz from the University of British Columbia: Dr. Dutz is a rheumatologist and dermatologist with a special clinical interest in the cutaneous manifestations of autoimmunity and rheumatic disease. His research focus is on the skin immune system and the manipulation of this system to promote immune responses and induce tolerance.

Dr. Michael Holick from Boston University: Dr. Holick is the Director of the General Clinical Research Unit, Bone Health Care Clinic, and Vitamin D, Skin and Bone Research Laboratory at Boston University. Dr. Holick has made numerous contributions to the field of the biochemistry, physiology, metabolism, and photobiology of vitamin D for human nutrition. On the executive team, the company has brought on Dr. Jashin Wu to serve as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Wu is a dermatologist specializing in the treatment of psoriasis and is experienced in treating patients using light therapy. Dr. Wu is the founder and Course Director of the San Diego Dermatology Symposium and is the founder and CEO of the Dermatology Research and Education Foundation.

SOLIUS also added Rick White and Doug Hansmann to the board of directors. White served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999, where he was known as one of Congress’s most active legislators on high-tech issues and is currently principal of the Woodbay Group where he focuses primarily on projects in the technology and public policy areas. Hansmann is a co-founder of EKOS Corporation and has been active as a bioengineer for several decades. He has a rich background in medical device product development and brings enormous expertise to the company.
