Nick Welham Named Hygieia Chief Operating fficer

Nick Welham joins Hygieia as the first COO of Hygieia. Welham will be focused on operational excellence, delivering an unparalleled patient experience, and creating scalable processes.

“Nick Welham joins Hygieia as we grow and add to our capabilities,” said Eran Bashan, Ph.D., CEO, and co-founder of Hygieia. “He brings to the team critical skills in continuous improvement, change management, and digital transformation. We are excited to welcome him to the team.”

Welham started at Hygieia in September. Before that he was with C-Link Consulting, a Michigan company he founded to help businesses in health care and other industries. Prior to that, he was CEO of Medical Weight Loss Clinic, a multi-state weight management chain with 34 locations. Additionally, he has deep experience providing strategic operational consulting to global companies in health care, technology, commercial real estate, and non-profit organizations.

“My goal at Hygieia is to support its growth as a provider of a revolutionary insulin management program,” said Welham. “I want to help Hygieia bring its transformational d-Nav technology to all of Michigan, the United States, and the world. To do so, we must manage our growth, and complexity of regulations and requirements while staying focused on exceptional patient care.”

Welham attended Bournemouth University in England, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Communication, and Computing. He holds an Executive MBA from Michigan State University Eli Broad College of Business, where he also serves on the MBA alumni board and mentors graduate students. Previous pro bono work includes an organizational study for JARC, a non-profit helping people with developmental disabilities, and volunteering at Children’s Hospital of Michigan where he has been a family advisory council member.
