The 50-bed unit at Avamere Transitional Care & Rehabilitation provides a dedicated place for individuals to transition from hospital to home while recovering from the virus, following the recommended 14-day quarantine by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Avamere Transitional Care & Rehabilitation – Brighton calls this the ABC unit, standing for “Avamere Brighton Cares.”

“Being in the healthcare industry, we have the honor of serving seniors in our local community,” stated Rachel Rodriguez, Interim Administrator at Avamere Transitional Care & Rehabilitation – Brighton. “This is our way of helping those who need us most during this crucial time.”

The unit will feature dedicated full-time occupational, physical, and speech therapists, as well as a unit-dedicated hospice team from Dignity Hospice.

Dr. Shad Grubbs and associate extended providers will work with patients one-on-one in the COVID-19 unit, Avamere’s Medical Director at the Brighton location and Avamere Transitional Care and Rehabilitation – Malley in Northglenn, Colorado.

This dedicated unit is unique for senior care communities in Colorado. In fact, state health officials told Avamere they were a pioneer in Colorado.

But at the heart of it all is a team dedicated to living Avamere’s mission to enhance the life of every person they serve.

“Our altruistic goal is to serve the Denver area, serve the community,” stated Dr. Grubbs.

Avamere Transitional Care & Rehabilitation – Brighton is accepting patients in Brighton, Colorado, and the surrounding areas.
