Government Introduces Sehat Insaf Card in Pakistan Investing 400 Billion Rupees

The present Government of Pakistan has launched the Sehat Insaf Card Scheme, which is claimed to be a total 360 degrees shift in the health sector of Pakistan

Sehat Insaf Card: The introduction has been made to provide free medical treatment to families from top private and government hospitals of Pakistan that cover medical bills up to 10 lac rupees per year. For the people of Pakistan, this Sehat Card Insaf has been introduced under the Sehat Sahulat Program.

As of now, it has been claimed that every citizen of Pakistan can opt for free medical care and is eligible to access Sehat Insaf Card. The disabled and transgender community can have access if only registered with NADRA.

At this moment several districts are covered under the program and steps have been taken to cover all the districts of Pakistan. A total of 400 billion rupees has been assigned to serve this objective alone. The Health Minister of Punjab, Dr. Yasmin Rashid in a statement said, “It has been anticipated that the whole of Pakistan will be made eligible to opt for Sehat Card by 31st March 2022”.

There are two packages offered in accordance with the Sehat Sahulat Program website. The Secondary Care Package allots Rs. 60,000 to each family annually. Priority Treatment Package on the other hand covers treatment of serious diseases and a total of Rs. 300,000 are allocated to a single-family annually.

In a statement, PM Imran Khan said, “It’s very important that we protect our poor with health cards so that if someone in their homes falls ill, they know that they can just take the Health Card to a hospital and receive treatment.” Prime Minister Khan said.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Healthcare System of Pakistan has been influenced majorly. But, with the initiative of Sehat Sahulat Cards, the PTI Government is very optimistic. The mission to expand the program globally while addressing health-related issues of the masses is what is anticipated.

The Chief Minister of KPK on the launch said that “Free medical treatment facilities can be availed from designated private and public sector hospitals. The program, besides ensuring free medical treatment to the deserving population will also help reduce the poverty rate in the province. The premium for a health insurance card is around Rs1,700 for a household, which will be paid by the provincial government.”

All Pakistani citizens can apply for Sehat Card by checking their eligibility by sending their CNIC number to 8500. A better way to register for Sehat Insaf Card is by downloading the Naya Pakistan Sehat Insaf Card. People who are already registered can get their cards from the Sehat Card Distribution Center.

Along with medical benefits, Rs.10,000 will be provided to the families of the patients who don’t survive in order to manage the funeral.

Health Minister Yasmeen Rashid while giving a speech during a launch event mentioned that “Over 30 million families have been given top quality health facilities by Prime Minister Imran Khan. This is a gift from the Prime Minister for the entire nation. The Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat Card is bringing about real change in the health sector. Cardholders can get free treatment of up to Rs one million in impaneled hospitals”.
