Good Samaritan Medical Center has acquired the da Vinci 5® Surgical System, Intuitive’s most advanced robotic-assisted surgical platform to date. The addition of this cutting-edge technology reinforces the hospital’s commitment to offering patients the highest level of surgical precision and minimally invasive care.

The da Vinci 5 builds upon decades of innovation in robotic surgery and features more than 150 design enhancements to improve patient outcomes, surgeon ergonomics, and procedural efficiency. It is designed for a range of specialties including urology, gynecology, thoracic, and general surgery.

“At Good Samaritan Medical Center, we are always looking for ways to raise the standard of care for our patients,” said Sheri Montgomery, CEO of Good Samaritan Medical Center. “Bringing the da Vinci 5 to our hospital reflects our investment in innovation, our talented surgical teams, and our continued focus on delivering personalized, minimally invasive care with the most advanced tools available.”

The da Vinci 5 system features revolutionary capabilities, including:

  • First-of-its-kind Force Feedback technology, which provides surgeons with greater control while minimizing pressure on delicate tissues
  • Enhanced 3DHD vision for improved clarity and color accuracy
  • Next-level computing power, enabling real-time insights and advanced integration
  • Refined ergonomics that support surgeon comfort and focus throughout procedures

With more than 10,000 times the computing power of its predecessor, the da Vinci 5 is built to evolve with future innovations in robotic surgery. Its precision and versatility help support faster recovery times, smaller incisions, and less postoperative pain for patients.

Good Samaritan Medical Center is equipped with advanced robotic technologies that support our comprehensive general and orthopedic surgery programs, including the MAKO, da Vinci, and Velys systems. Our commitment to high-quality care is reflected in national recognitions, such as The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Total Hip and Knee Replacement, Shoulder Replacement, and Spine Surgery, as well as Healthgrades’ 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery and excellence in outpatient orthopedic care.
