MinXray, a manufacturer of complete portable digital radiography systems, will be in booth C6312 during the Union World Conference on Lung Health 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark, showcasing its diagnostic imaging solutions that can provide critical healthcare services in traditionally underserved areas.
Visitors to the booth will be among the first to experience “Breathe In,” a digital artwork created by artist and activist Paulina Siniatkina and her husband Johannes Hogebrink in collaboration with MinXray and other partners. The work features 64 chest X-rays captured on MinXray’s IMPACT Wireless System edited together into a video that gives the appearance of one breathing body. Viewers are encouraged to reflect on how the piece depicts our collective identity shared vulnerability against diseases such as tuberculosis (TB), as well as our joint responsibility to provide healthcare for all.
Siniatkina will be at the MinXray booth November 20 from 2-4 p.m. and November 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and available to answer questions about the work and how her experience as a TB survivor has inspired it.
“The stigma surrounding TB often stops people from talking about it and the impact it still has on so much of the world,” says Siniatkina. “By focusing on the human experiences of TB in my artwork, I hope to keep the conversation going and shine a light on the urgent need for relief.”
The parties involved in the artwork’s creation will also be presenting a panel discussion “Art, AI-enabled X-rays and partnerships in the fight against TB” on November 19 from 5-5:45 p.m. in Balcony 3. Presenters include Siniatkina; Michael Cairnie of MinXray, who will be discussing the technological capabilities of ultra-portable X-ray systems; Dara Kelleher of qure.AI, who will be discussing AI solutions for diagnosis; and Dr. Stephen John of the Janna Health Foundation in Yola, Nigeria, who will be sharing his experiences working with the discussed technologies to provide healthcare services in nomadic communities. The discussion is chaired by Dr. Jacob Creswell, a leader within the Stop TB Partnership, an international organization based in Geneva, Switzerland, dedicated to eliminating TB, and Dr. Robyn Waite of MinXray who instigated the partnership.
“Despite being both preventable and treatable, TB remains the world’s deadliest infectious disease. Lessening the global impact of TB requires collaboration and a multi-faceted approach to drive both awareness and action, and our hope with this presentation is to show those principles at work,” says Waite.
