ForSight Robotics, a pioneer of robotic eye surgery, announced today the appointment of Sharon Levita as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective September 1, 2023. Levita will lead ForSight Robotics’ strategic and financial operations, focusing on driving business strategies, expanding strategic partnerships, and managing financial and growth objectives.

Levita brings over 20 years of industry experience working with private and publicly-listed (NASDAQ and TASE) companies. Most recently, Levita served as Medtronic’s Business Development and Strategy Leader at the company’s Cranial and Spinal Technologies operating unit, and as VP of Business Operations and Medtronic Site Lead (formerly robotic spine surgery company Mazor Robotics) in Israel. Prior to this, Levita served as CFO and VP of Business Operations at Mazor Robotics for over a decade and led the company’s $1.6 billion acquisition by Medtronic in 2018. Her previous experience includes various leadership roles at medical laser company Lumenis and at KPMG Hungary.

“Sharon is a proven leader, dedicated to driving forward healthcare innovation,” said Dr. Joseph Nathan, ForSight Robotics co-founder, president, and chief medical officer. “Her expertise and vast management experience in global medical technology companies, from developing successful go-to-market strategies to expanding global partnerships, are unparalleled and aligned with the company’s vision. We are thrilled to welcome Sharon to our team as we continue advancing in the development of our ORYOM Surgical Robotics Platform.”

“This is such an exciting time to join ForSight Robotics,” said Sharon Levita. “The company has significant potential to help millions of patients around the world. I value its mission to democratize quality surgical eye care and am eager to work together with the world-class team to strengthen the company’s forward momentum and together, have a global impact.”

In the past year, ForSight Robotics raised a record $55 million Series A funding round, doubled in size to 50 employees, and expanded its leadership team with the appointments of Dr. Yaron Levinson as Head of Product and Ran Mendelewicz as Head of Robotics. Levinson joined the company following over a decade in the surgical robotics industry, most recently as VP R&D at surgical robotics company Momentis Surgical, where he supported regulatory processes to receive FDA approval for the company’s robotic system. Mendelewicz joined ForSight Robotics following 20 years in the medical device industry, most recently as VP R&D at intraocular implant company Nano Retina.
