Fujifilm Launches System Integration Platform Specifically Designed for Endoscopy Suites

Fujifilm Medical Systems USA, Inc., a leading provider of diagnostic and enterprise imaging and integration solutions, today launched the industry’s first Systems Integration platform designed specifically to enhance image and data integration in endoscopy suites.

Through specially designed hardware and software configurations, this scalable solution enables the multi-video and image routing and display capabilities that GI physicians need while performing advanced procedures.

Fujifilm’s Systems Integration platform delivers a variety of differentiated benefits for endoscopy suites:

  • Quad-Channel Recording – Physicians can record up to four separate sources with built-in image capture, enabling multi-image viewing on large wall-mounted flat panel displays. This allows physicians to see relevant imaging and data from a variety of sources (endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, patient vitals, MR/CT, in-room camera, etc.) in one centralized place.
  • Teleconferencing/Broadcasting – Health teams can broadcast live endoscopic content to any networked destination, and communicate with key stakeholders and resources with Fujifilm’s integrated teleconference technology. A key advantage of this technology is that health teams can have virtual clinical support in the room with them.
  • Interoperability and Image Recall – Fujifilm’s Intelligent Launch functionality enables seamless integration and in-room routing of picture archiving and communication system (PACS) images (i.e. MR, CT) during and while planning for endoscopy procedures. Images can be integrated into a health system’s endo-writing software so they can be accessed through the system’s electronic medical record system, enabling streamlined access for all clinicians involved in the patient’s care journey.
  • Education – In-room cameras enable care teams to view side-by-side images along with procedural video for real-time comparison. This enables live procedures and courses to be recorded and reviewed for educational and training purposes- a process that would otherwise be too cumbersome to pursue.

The platform was recently installed at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is currently being leveraged by clinicians along with the rest of Fujifilm’s endoscopic imaging portfolio, which was purchased and installed earlier this year.
