Canadian medical imaging manufacturer KA Imaging and Canossa Hospital in Hong Kong have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to bring the Reveal 35C portable dual-energy X-ray detector to the hospital.

The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony at the 5th Asia Summit on Global Health, with Dr. Karim S. Karim, Chief Technology Officer of KA Imaging, and Dr. Andrew Hui, Chief Operating Officer of Canossa Hospital, as signatories. Mr. Byron Lee, Associate Director of Service Promotion at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, also attended the event.

Founded in 1929 by the Canossian Daughters of Charity, Canossa Hospital (Caritas) is a non-profit institution with 148 beds, providing services to in-patients, out-patients, and ambulatory care patients throughout Hong Kong.

The Reveal 35C is the world’s first portable X-ray detector with dual-energy imaging. It leverages KA Imaging’s patented SpectralDR™ technology to simultaneously capture bone and soft tissue images using a single standard X-ray exposure — without motion artifacts or added dose. The technology addresses major limitations of conventional dual-energy systems and supports more precise, efficient diagnostic imaging.

“This collaboration is a meaningful step in making evidence-backed, cutting-edge diagnostic X-ray imaging more accessible globally,” said Dr. Karim S. Karim, CTO of KA Imaging. “By enabling, for the first time in X-ray imaging, both disease quantification and better visualization of bone and soft tissue in a single standard X-ray exposure, the Reveal 35C supports more precise and accurate clinical decision-making at early stages of disease benefiting both patients and providers.”

“KA’s FDA-approved solutions are ripe for immediate implementation not only in Hong Kong but also across Asia,” said Mr. Emmanuel Hui, CEO of Tiger Jade Pebble Accelerator, who facilitated theagreement. “It is Pebble’s bread and butter to be the bridge for biomedicine, and we are incredibly excited to work with Canossa in bringing new technologies such as KA’s platform to benefit patients around the world.”

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing medical imaging in Asia and delivering high-quality healthcare through innovative X-ray technologies.
