KA Imaging’s Reveal Mobi Pro ™, a premium dual-energy mobile X-ray system, has received the CE Mark and is now available for sale in Europe after meeting all regulatory requirements.
The Reveal Mobi Pro™ integrates KA Imaging’s Reveal™ 35C detector with SpectralDR® technology into a complete mobile X-ray solution. Its ability to simultaneously acquire conventional and dual-energy images with a single exposure at the bedside enhances hospital and patient outcomes while helping to protect revenue by reducing outflows.
According to KA Imaging, one of the most prominent use cases for SpectralDR® technology is the ICU. Medical imaging plays a critical role in monitoring the condition of ICU patients, commonly to check for conditions like pneumonia or pneumothorax or to rule out other potentially serious pulmonary issues along with verifying the tips of catheters or endotracheal tubes.
A study presented at the American Society of Emergency Radiology (ASER) Meeting last year demonstrated promising results for KA Imaging’s technology in the ICU. Conducted at Grand River Hospital (GRH)—a Canadian 665-bed community hospital—the study evaluated how the Reveal™ 35C detector could address some common ICU imaging challenges by providing dual-energy images directly at the bedside. Seventeen physicians, including radiologists and intensivists, were interviewed.
More than half of the respondents reported improvements in all key areas, including better image quality, no added or faster reading times, increased diagnostic confidence, and a reduction in time to potential intervention.
The study also suggested a potential reduction in chest CT utilization. Intensivists reported a self-perceived decrease in the need for CT scans, while hospital data showed a 37.5% reduction in chest CTs compared to the previous three months and a 16.67% decrease compared to the same period the previous year.
