Widex Names U.S. Ski Jumper Estella Hassrick an Official Brand Ambassador, Inspiring a New Generation to Live Boldly

Widex today announced the addition of U.S. Ski Jumper Estella Hassrick as its newest brand ambassador. At just 19, ESTELLA Hassrick has already distinguished herself on the U.S. Ski Team, earning recognition for her discipline, composure, and fearlessness.

“Estella embodies everything Widex stands for,” said Alan Raffauf, Head of Brand Marketing, Widex. “Her confidence, authenticity, and refusal to let hearing loss define her limits make her an inspiring athlete and a natural match for Widex. She shows young people everywhere that clarity, both in sound and in self, can fuel extraordinary performance.”

Widex has elevated how confidently I move through the world, and I’m proud to represent the brand as an ambassador,” Hassrick said. “Since being fitted with Widex Allure™, I train and compete with a new sense of clarity and confidence. For the first time, I can hear my coaches in real time, stay connected with teammates, and focus all my energy on performance instead of straining to hear.”

Hassrick’s journey to elite ski jumping began early: she first strapped into skis at four and launched her first jumps by age eight. Her rapid rise to success is a feat on its own, but even more so because she has managed congenital hearing loss since birth – a condition she shares with her father and grandfather. For years, she used hearing aids at home and school, but traditional devices proved impossible to wear under a ski helmet; discomfort, feedback, and shifting made them impractical, forcing her to train and compete without them.

Through every stage of this journey, the Hassrick family has relied on longtime audiologist Dr. Veronica Heide of Audible Difference, who has supported three generations with care and compassion. When Widex Allure became available, she recognized immediately that its advanced sound processing, comfort, and discreet design made it the ideal solution for Estella’s active life.

“Widex Allure delivers the balance of natural sound quality and adaptive performance that Estella needs,” Dr. Heide said. “It’s rare to see a device that supports both high-level athletic performance and deeply personal daily experiences, with that kind of clarity, flexibility, and confidence.”

The result has been transformative. With Widex Allure, Estella can comfortably wear hearing aids under her helmet without feedback or shifting, hear coaching cues even in windy, noisy conditions, and preserve mental energy that previously went toward straining to listen. She now moves through competition, training halls, travel, and everyday life with a clarity and confidence she once thought impossible.

Widex Allure represents Widex’s most advanced hearing technology yet. Powered by the next-generation W1 chip and Precision Hearing Technology, Widex Allure seamlessly balances speech clarity with environmental awareness, providing natural clarity for both speech and surroundings so wearers can be effortlessly immersed in their environment. The result is a sound experience that users have preferred 4-to-1 compared to their own devices for speech understanding, naturalness, and overall listening experience1.  Additionally, rechargeable receiver-in-canal models combine discreet design with comfort, Bluetooth connectivity, and an easy-to-use companion app for personalized sound adjustments on the go.

As Estella embarks on a new season of ski jumping, with training in Lillehammer and competitions across Europe, she does so with the confidence that comes from hearing clearly, performing optimally, and living authentically. With Widex Allure, her journey is more than athletic: it’s a statement that hearing loss can be part of one’s identity without limiting one’s potential.

“We’re honored to welcome Estella to the Widex family,” concluded Raffauf, “Her unwavering determination reflects the impact that natural, effortless hearing can have on a person’s life. Together, we look forward to inspiring people of all ages to hear more and live boldly.”
