BRAINBox Solutions Announces Agreement with Prolight Diagnostics for Commercial Supply of Pyros® Devices for Delivery of BRAINBox Concussion Diagnostics/Prognostics at Point-of-Care

Company reports additional progress in expanding its patent portfolio for concussion and neurodegenerative disease testing

BRAINBox Solutions today announced it has entered into an agreement with Prolight Diagnostics to supply its Pyros® instruments and cartridges for use in point-of-care (PoC) delivery of BRAINBox’s TBI diagnostic/prognostic tests for concussion (also known as mTBI or Acute Traumatic Encephalopathy).

The supply agreement follows a successful collaboration, including a feasibility study in which Prolight evaluated 260 patient samples from the data set of BrainBox’s HeadSMART II pivotal trial on the Psyros platform using three assays for concussion. The results demonstrated excellent performance. Prolight’s Pyros technology enables the rapid detection and measurement of single molecules from a drop of blood. Their proprietary and multiplex-capable technology enables the measurement of biomarkers at extremely low concentrations (single digit ng/L).

The company continues to enhance and expand its patent coverage across highly specific and sensitive biomarkers and neurocognitive testing for TBI and neurodegenerative diseases, both alone and in conjunction with advanced imaging techniques. In particular, the Company recently filed for new international patents differentiating acute and chronic TBI in geriatric patients from neurodegenerative diseases and disorders. After securing patent coverage for use of the sST2 biomarker in TBI and neurodegenerative disease testing, the company continues to enhance the breadth and depth of its intellectual property portfolio in these areas.
